DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
In the morning at 08:00Hrs, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and embark on a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, which is approximately a 4-hour journey from Nairobi. As you enter Amboseli, you will immediately be captivated by the stunning vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro, providing a picturesque backdrop to the park’s wide-open plains. After checking into your lodge, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before venturing out on an afternoon game drive.
During your game drive, keep your eyes peeled for the park’s diverse wildlife, including large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and various antelope species. Amboseli is also home to predators such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals, so there’s always the possibility of witnessing a thrilling wildlife interaction.
Day 2: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha and Crescent Island
After breakfast, depart Amboseli and drive to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, take a boat ride on the lake, where you can spot a variety of bird species, including flamingos, pelicans, and fish eagles. After the boat ride, visit Crescent Island, which is a private sanctuary and home to a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes. Take a guided walk on the island, getting close to the animals in their natural habitat.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
Leave Lake Naivasha after breakfast and make your way to the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. The Mara is known for its abundant wildlife, especially during the annual wildebeest migration (typically occurring between July and October). Upon arrival, embark on a thrilling game drive, where you can spot lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and numerous other animals. Witness the breathtaking landscapes of the Mara, with its vast plains and meandering rivers.
Day 4: Full Day in Masai Mara
Spend a full day exploring the wonders of Masai Mara. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, as this increases your chances of encountering a wide range of wildlife species. Day 5: Masai Mara to Nairobi
On your final day, savor a leisurely morning breakfast, bid farewell to this remarkable wilderness and start your journey back to Nairobi. Reflect on the incredible memories you’ve made during your safari, and perhaps stop at a local curio shop to pick up souvenirs before reaching Nairobi city. Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your 5-day safari adventure.
