Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, you’ll head out for a full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is known for its abundant wildlife, including the annual wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeest and other herbivores cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing lands. Witnessing this natural spectacle can be a highlight of your safari experience. During the day, you’ll have a picnic lunch in the park, allowing you to maximize your time for wildlife sightings. In the afternoon, you’ll continue exploring different areas of the reserve, keeping an eye out for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) and other fascinating animals and birds. After a full day of game drives, you’ll return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Entebbe, Uganda

Bid farewell to the Masai Mara as you depart for your next destination: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. You will be transferred to the Nairobi Airport for a scheduled flight to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Take this opportunity to explore the lodge’s surroundings, enjoy a delicious dinner, and get a good night’s sleep to ensure you are well-rested for the trekking experience.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking

Today is the highlight of your gorilla trekking adventure. After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. During the briefing, you will be assigned a specific gorilla family to track, and you will receive important information about gorilla trekking etiquette and safety guidelines. Once the briefing is complete, you will set off into the dense forest in search of the mountain gorillas. The trek can vary in duration and difficulty, ranging from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are assigned. The terrain can be challenging, with steep slopes and thick vegetation, but the experienced guides and rangers will assist you along the way.

When you finally encounter the gorillas, you will have a precious hour to observe and photograph them from a close but safe distance. This unique wildlife encounter allows you to witness the gorillas’ social interactions, behaviors, and even catch a glimpse of the majestic silverback, the dominant male of the group. It is an awe-inspiring experience that will leave a lasting impression. After your time with the gorillas, you will trek back to the park’s headquarters and return to your lodge. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax and reflect on the incredible day you’ve had.
